US/Canada Road Trip Fall 2017

Boston (9/15/17)

After leaving NYC, my first stop was Boston! It got cloudier since the last time I visited 2 years ago. Some highlights:

  • Sailing on the Charles (thanks Sepehr!)
  • Student-led tours of Harvard and MIT
  • Alison Wonderland concert at House of Blues
  • Best lobster sandwich (Alive & Kicking)
  • Best Italian sub (Casa Razdora)
  • Best cannoli (Mike’s Pastry)

Everything in Boston is named after Paul Revere. This city really seems to revere him.

Fun fact – Ben Franklin (who was born in Boston) is buried in Philadelphia. This obelisk at Granary Burying Ground is a tribute to Franklin’s parents and relatives.

The Green Dragon Tavern was a meeting spot for the Sons of Liberty and a planning venue for the Boston Tea Party. This isn’t the original building but we can pretend this is where everything happened!

Met up for lunch with my college friend Jeff who is now a grad student at MIT. He gave me a tour of his ChemE lab and even got some work done during the tour.
