Before heading back to the US I had one final stop in Canada: Niagara Falls! Following friends’ advice I went to the Canadian side, which has better views than the US side. I wasn’t disappointed – this scenery can make anyone fall in love with it!
I was surprised to learn that there are actually THREE waterfalls here: American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls (from left to right). While American and Horseshoe Falls are v impressive, Bridal Veil Falls is the small waterfall to the right of American Falls. Didn’t even realize this was a separate waterfall!
American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are located entirely on the American side of the border, while Horseshoe Falls falls on the border itself.

In addition to the majestic waterfalls, Niagara Falls is also the name of the twin cities in Ontario and New York.

Nikola Tesla Monument
Overlooking Horseshoe Falls is a monument to Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest engineers and inventors in history. Tesla is best known for his invention of the alternating current induction motor, used in modern electricity supply systems. The monument at Niagara Falls is a tribute to his design of the hydroelectric power plant here in 1895.

Unfortunately it started raining towards the end of my 2-hour visit, but what can you expect from a fall day in Canada!
My brief stop at Niagara Falls fell nothing short of amazing and I highly recommend a visit to this incredible place 🙂
Next up: Pittsburgh, USA!
